# 3D Digital Twins and remote expolration of the Physical World

OVER Maps go beyond enabling the OVER VPS described in the former chapter. They’re also an explorable digital twin of the physical world.&#x20;

Once a location is mapped, it is possible to have an immersive experience of the mapped area. It is possible to jump in the OVRMap remotely, meet and interact with other people, with their avatars in the 3D reconstruction of the location, and see the AR experience published locally in the 3D reconstruction of the area. All of this from Smartphones, Smart Glasses, VR devices, and even a simple web browser through QRCode-activated experiences.
