Scene

The Scene section in the OVER Web Builder serves as the control center for managing all the elements present in your experience. It displays the Hierarchy of the scene, which includes every asset, from 3D models to images, lights, and more.

Hierarchy Management

The Hierarchy provides a clear, structured list of all elements currently in your scene. You can perform various actions for each element directly from this list:

  • Show/Hide: Toggle the visibility of the element in the scene.

  • Move Up/Down: Reorder elements within the hierarchy, which may affect layering or rendering priorities.

  • Delete: Permanently remove the element from your scene.

Clicking on any element in the Hierarchy will open its specific settings in the Properties panel.

Properties Panel

When an element is selected, the Properties panel appears, displaying all of the detailed settings for that object. Here’s what you can do for each element:

  • Rename: Change the name of the element to better identify it within your scene.

  • Position, Rotation, Scale: Manually input the X, Y, and Z coordinates to precisely control the location, orientation, and size of the element.

  • External URL Linking: Set an external URL to link assets from outside your personal library, useful for incorporating assets stored elsewhere.

Additional Properties by Asset Type

Each type of asset has specific settings that can be adjusted based on its functionality:

  • 3D Models/Assets:

    • Animation Loop: If the asset includes animations, you can select which animation to play and enable looping.

    • Shadows: Control whether the asset casts shadows and/or receives shadows, optimizing realism and rendering effects.

  • Lights:

    • Light Type: Choose between different types of lights, such as directional, point, or spotlight.

    • Intensity and Color: Adjust the brightness and color of the light to match the atmosphere you’re trying to create.

  • Videos:

    • Loop: Enable or disable looping of the video.

    • Volume: Set the volume level for the video playback.

In-App Control for Interactive Assets

For certain elements, you have the option to enable In-App Control. When this feature is active, users can interact with the asset through a virtual joystick that appears in the UI of the app. This feature is particularly useful for creating interactive elements within your experience.

If you activate Enable in-app control, you can control the asset's movement or behavior directly in the app, allowing for dynamic interactions within your AR/Virtual environment.

For more details on how to make an asset controllable, you can refer to the documentation linked here.
