# What is an OVRLand?

An OVRLand is a 300 sqm spatial domain encoded as an NFT that represents a specific geographic location in the OVER digital layer, which is mapped 1:1 to our physical world.

We call it a spatial domain because it assigns control to the AR content that will be published in the represented geographic location. In very simple terms, a spatial domain is like a website you can walk into.

Just like we have web domains that grant control of the content on web pages, a spatial domain like an OVRLand, grants control of the digital assets and augmented reality (AR) experiences connected to that unique geographic location.

A single OVRLand is shaped like a hexagon and anchored to a unique location in the physical world.

The total theoretical number of OVRLands is 1.660.954.464.112, and includes oceans, deserts, and forests. In contrast, there are less than 100 million valuable, famous or populated locations.

OVRLands can be further divided into seven hexagons, allowing for even more precise localization. \
